Little splasher

At 7.5 months, Kendall loves to splash and put her face in the water.

Josie's rethinking the request to take her bath with Kendall instead of Caleb.

happy to be moving

While Kendall is thrilled to be crawling around, Caleb and Josie are not excited that she now gets into all of their business.  Here, she was trying and trying to get at their game of Battleship.

Happy half-birthday to Kendall!

Caleb and Josie wanted to make cupcakes and decorate them pink with purple sprinkles for Kendall to celebrate her birthday.  They were just fine with the news that she wouldn't be allowed to have any.  The response:  so we'll just have to eat them?  Yup, they're pretty caring.

Check out the two little white razors she grew!

And, a new skill: sitting up.  Soon to come: crawling.  She's already scooting when there's enough incentive.  Any day now!
At her 6 month check-up, she weighed 17 lbs, 15 oz, and measured 26.5" tall.   At Josie's 6 month check up she was 16 lbs, 4 oz and 27" tall while Caleb was the largest.  At 6 months he was 18 lbs, 10 oz and 28.5".

Catching up...

Even with having our 4th snow day on Friday, I somehow still don't feel caught up on things.  And, realizing that I haven't posted any pictures on here lately, here's a bunch of random ones from the last month or so.

Kendall continues to get Plenty of love from both Josie and Caleb.

Kendall continues to love bath time, but now wants to splash us with her violent kicking.
Josie can be a total goof...

...and a super sweet big sister, "reading" her a princess story.  Really, video of this would have been much better because the audio was hilarious.

We tried some bendy rubber twist rollers in Josie's hair, and they work more than enough.

The kids built an igloo with neighbor friends across the street.  The claimed it is warm in there.  We must have different understandings of the word "warm".

Kendall tried some sledding and seemed to like it alright, by which I mean she didn't cry to get out.  She pretty much just had a blank look on her face the whole time.
Trying to make this last as long as possible.

5 months on January 7

Many many pictures of Kendall.  What can I say? Taking pictures of her is one of my favorite things to do with her.  I took these on her 'birthday'.

  • She continues to be a very relaxed, happy baby.
  • She sleeps pretty well, but still gets up at least once during the night.
  • She is reaching for toys, my hair, and her spoon when we try to feed her.
  • She is starting to sit up on her own...and can handle it for about 5 seconds before she topples over and starts to roll her way across the room.
  • So far, she loves cereal, squash and sweet potatoes.
  • She definitely shows that she recognizes me, Kyle, Caleb and Josie and smiles, giggles or kicks her legs wildly when she sees us.
  • She LOVES to jump in a jump-up and is really getting the hang of it, even bouncing herself so high that she giggles with each drop.

Christmas Break 2012

Snow!!!!

Since I am posting this a bit delayed, all of this snow is already gone.  But, we had fun with it while it lasted.

Christmas Celebrations 2012

This is what these two came up with to occupy themselves while waiting
for us to position Kendall.
Thankfully they switched over to some nice smiles for a group shot.

The children's program at church.  Josie's group did "Away in a Manger" and "Oh, How I Love, Jesus."  Caleb's group did "Come on Ring Those Bells".  Unfortunately, Caleb was in the second row, pretty much directly behind a much taller kid, so no great pictures of his performance.

Caleb and Josie were psyched for bowling with extended family.  I have a feeling the guy working the place was not so psyched to come over to our lane to retrieve a ball, fix the pin resetting machine, fix the bumpers...

 "Mr. Focused"
Happy to be back home and in the jump-up for a while Monday morning.
Opening presents at home Monday morning.

Josie got this enormous cardboard house that we've had hiding in the basement since Kyle got it after Christmas last year.
Caleb was so excited to give the presents he got at school for each of us.  Check out how enthused he is for Josie to open this pink hamster toy...and she loves it!

At Kyle's family celebration....we didn't get many great pictures.  Kendall wasn't incredibly happy the whole time, so one of us was tending to her.  Here are the 3 bigger girl cousins (of the 7 girls) showing off their new princess gear.

 Sweet little Dylan...
 ...and Peter.

Who looks more excited for those ballet slippers?
Once she figured out what they were, she was just as excited as he and wore them the rest of the night (and most of today).

If only he had a hat.
